"Authorities discovered the body of Corliss Arleen McBride in the hotel room of Loony Leo at 11:15 yesterday evening[April 3rd, 1957]. McBride, 14, known to Leo as "Trixie," was apparently visiting or possibly living in the former cartoon star's room in exchange for personal favors or for money to support her drug addiction."

After her death, it was discovered that Corliss was underage. The public outrage, fueled by the anger of Corliss's mother, destroyed Loony Leo's TV career. Much later, it was claimed that Corliss had, in fact, run away from home to escape her mother's physical abuse.
