Carson He retired from crime-fighting as both a police officer and super-hero in 1972. To pay the bills he opened up Bruiser's, a bar that caters to the blue collar citizens of Astro City. History After retiring, he went public with his identity, so that his story could serve as an inspiration to others. Though there are also reports that he playfully will neither confirm nor deny that he was in fact the Black Badge. K.O. sponsored the Bakerville Street Fair's boxing tournament in the early 1980s. Carson believed it was a way to help wayward youths find a focus in life. He also played a part in helping Charles and Royal Williams set aside their hatred and need for vengeance against Aubrey Jason and by turn the Silver Agent. His heroic past has given his bar a special notoriety as a place for Super-heroes, active and retired, as well as the blue collar strong men, to hang-out, have a beer or two, and generally relax with peers.
