|history = Maxie Costello, a former boxer with a knack for tinkering, turned criminal after discovering a pair of alien golden gloves worn by a skeleton in a crashed spaceship. <br>
But, like most of the other residents in the Kiefer Square area, every time he got a hold of some money, almost all of it went back into his criminal endeavors, whether it be for testing or more sophisticated equipment. He once bought a blimp, that he converted into a submarine, only to have to destroy it and fake his death, after the [[Street Angel]] was tracking him.
After getting killed the by the blask mask killer in 1998, his daughter took his gloves and became the new [[Goldenglove II|Goldenglove]] for a time.
