Pete Donacek The senior bellman at the Classic Hotel. History A former minor league hockey player who moved to Astro City in 1988, who bounced around from odd job to odd job until he landed a job as a bellman at the Astro City Classic Hotel. At first he came to not mind living in Astro City with all of the heroes, villains and other assorted supernatural happenings, until one night he wandered down the wrong alley. Ragged Tom and his Ragamuffins were ready to pounce on Pete, when the Confessor showed up and scared off the villainous felines. But Pete vowed to save up and hightail it out of Astro City. But in 1991, after having almost saved up enough to move out of town, the Destructoids awoke and rampaged through Astro City. Pete saved a young girl from falling debris during the giant gods battle with Honor Guard. While it reaggravated his old hockey injury and forced him to use a cane, the experience gave Pete a new light into the city, which has become his city. Today Pete serves as the senior bellman at the Classic. He likes to look out for and take care of the newcomers to the city, pointing them to tourist spots as well as keeping tabs on media reports of where the hot spots and danger zones are.
