The Irregulars

The Astro City Irregulars (also known as simply the Irregulars) are a superhero team made up of teenage or young adult outcasts and freaks. The group was founded by El Hombre's former sidekick, Bravo, though he has not been a member for many years now.

Observations

Irregular is a military term for a soldier not a part of the regular army or who follows their rules.
It may also be a possible reference to the Baker Street Irregulars from Sherlock Holmes, a group of street urchins who helped the detective out.

Speculations, Theories

Judging by Palmetto's reaction to Jailbait's reference to him as "Roach," in their first appearance, its possibly they were just recently formed in late 1995.
