The Galactic Council

History

Mentioned only in brief commentary by Brian Kinney (Altar Boy), the Galactic Council is understood to be some form of UN like governing group. Unlike a league of nations, this is on the scale of planets and star systems spanning (at least) the galactic region near Earth and the solar system. Their influence and organization may spread even further. Very little information about them is known to Earth authorities, despite the well published invasion attempts of the Enelsians in the late 1990s.

The K'ntarians are one of the leading members of the council.

Observations

It has been over 15 years since the last contact, but to an organization like the Galactic Council, that is probably a small fraction of time. They are believed to still be active, still monitoring our sol sector of the galaxy. But they are not intrusive. Unless the situation demands their attention, we probably won't hear from them for a long time to come.

Speculations, Theories

  • Reading in between the lines of other commentary by Brian, there are members of the Honor Guard that are privy to additional knowledge about the Galactic Council, in particular Samaritan and Starwoman.
  • Their relationship to The Continuum is unknown. Space is a big place and maybe the Galactic Council provide guidance and protection over a much smaller pond. Starwoman was working as an emissary for us in 1982 when The Continuum, further suggesting that they have a higher pecking order in terms of influence and power.
