: No so much nuts, its more that we are using what is essentially synonymous terms for different purposes.  I see and appreciate the perspective you are presenting, but based on the original pre-migrated Ironhorse (which I just went back and looked at), the Herocopia community went with a different perspective five or six years ago.  I too get confused, which probably infers that the casual readers, coming here for more information are also confused.  I'm going to make a couple of minor changes to the character infobox2 template to put some context to the terms. Let me know your thoughts. --[[User:Infobroker|Infobroker]] ([[User talk:Infobroker|talk]]) 10:25, 3 October 2013 (PDT)

I noticed you changed his first appearance in world back to earliest, though we know he first appeared in 1862 (according to K.O. Carson). But it makes me got back to Debut and First Appearance and which one is in-world and which is reference. I know I kept waffling back and forth, but now I'm thinking First Appearance would read better for the issue and debut sounds better for the in world appearance. First Appearance is what it says and covers if they've only had a mention. Debut sounds and would look better covering a year, era, or even a specific date for like Samaritan and Jack-in-the-Box II.
