Talk:CS:Sup
I will point here, although it is global and applies to all issue references:
When we first started Herocopia, are knowledge base of how to use it was limited. As our skills have grown, things have changed, adjusted.
The need for these page redirects with abbreviated name strings for the actual issue title was helpful. It provided a short, easy to remember name and thus a more error-free process for entering things like appearance lists.
However, as I noted in the change comments, it will be much better if the redirects use the specific title's template in the redirect. That way, should changes be needed, it is only one code change (the template) required to handle the entire site.
I will also state, that with templates in play, these page redirects are no longer needed. The templates can be used directly.
For example, using the template:
{{ACS}} [[{{ACS}}|#1]] --> Astro City Special #1
produces the same results as without the template:
{{ACS}} [[CS:Sup|#1]] --> Astro City Special #1
It also avoids a cryptic link to a clumsy and somewhat cryptic page redirect.
The old way works fine. It will be sticking around (At least until I get the wiki robots working). But I do recommend, for readability sake, and to ease code change impact, use the templates whenever and wherever you can.
Thanks.
