Drama Queen
|
HistoryFrankie Darman was the granddaughter of Frank Darman, aka Mister Drama. After her grandfather's death, her grandmother, Jonni, and her mother, Juliet, lived in bitterness after that, with Juliet's bitterness only increasing with the expenses caused by her mother's death and an alcoholic partner, Paulie, with whom she had a daughter, Frankie. Frankie was raised in poverty and an environment where she was raised to believe that Jack-in-the-Box ruined her mother's life (and seemingly avoided the same fate as her grandfather by returning to superheroic activity later) and was the cause of all the family's woes. As a result, she trained for her destiny, eventually finding information about her grandfather's old warehouse and its arsenal and supplies, including the army of Weirdie goons. After years of training, Frankie took on the guise of Drama Queen and pursued Jack-in-the-Box in order to fulfill the revenge she felt she was due. She tested and recorded his abilities in several encounters (including having her Weirdies savagely beat Jack-in-the-Box) before she made her ultimate move on Torres Island, revealing her motive to her nemesis: getting him to admit he killed her grandfather. When Jack-in-the-Box confronted her by noting he was not alive when her grandfather died (even removing his mask to show his age), she denied the possibility and demanded proof. When such proof--recordings from Weirdies destroyed in the initial Torres Island battle--was discovered that pointed to Mister Drama as the explosion's instigator (as a suicidal effort to avoid dying painfully of cancer), Frankie could not handle the strain of having everything she thought she knew turn out to be wrong. She activated an explosive device in an effort to kill herself, but she was saved by the first-aid efforts of Ike, Clyde, and R.J. until paramedics could arrive. Since then, Frankie has remained in stable, but comatose, condition.
