Quarrel (Jessica Darlene Taggart) She wears a costume similar in design and uses much of the same weaponry as her villainous father, the original Quarrel. But her career path has been that of a hero, her fighting style more athletic and disciplined. Quarrel's early years were spent as a member of the Omega Rangers. She is now a distinguished member of Honor Guard, and a resourceful solo-adventurer. She's spunky, determined and reliable. Equipment Wears Bolt-Blaster on right wrist for firing projectiles. Two indentations on top for holding quarrels to fire. Other firing locations might exist, but not definitively identified at present time. She wears a suit of chain mail with a heavy chest-overlay. . Stirrup on boots, the purpose might be decoration or something more? Wears a grappling device on her right hip for aerial movement. It can also be fired from a projectile launcher for longer distances. Standard sized quarrels are stored in a compact case on her left hip. She also has a backpack used for larger and/or special quarrel mechanisms. The backpack holds a parachute. Her basic set of quarrels and grappling devices were probably the extend of her father's original arsenal. Her association with the technical members of Honor Guard, especially N-Forcer, have resulted in a wider, more versatile and far more advanced set of projectile weapons and tools. It is similar to rubber bullet with the intent to incapacitate or damage targets on impact. It is assumed that the desire to make amends for her father's mistaken lifestyle are significant influences in her decision to become a crime-fighter. Early stages of her crime-fighting career include ties to Street Angel. Character commentary suggests that she is from a small town in Kentucky. Footnotes Romantic Rumors In Kurt Busiek's Astro City Vol. 1 issue #5, Nightingale refers to a romantic relationship involving Quarrel and Crackerjack. Later hints dropped in letters pages by creator Kurt Busiek, indicate that there might be more to consider than what the obvious surface aspects suggest. This prompted some interesting discussion at the official Astro City forum, Bruiser's, including fan speculation that Quarrel and Crackerjack might be related. Quarrel seems attracted to male relationships that will disappoint at best, but mostly hurt.
