Talk:Pyramid attempts to kidnap the Mercury Astronauts

I'll concede that this event is subject to interpretation, but I don't read the battle in Astro City as being a continuation of the attempt to kidnap the Mercury astronauts. I see it happening as a distinct event. It may be the same day, but we can only infer that and assume.

Also,(and I should have this in a policy guideline somewhere)for these timeline/annotation entries, only events where the date is clearly stated in full(month, day and year) or can be clearly inferred from the source (story, letter's page, interviews) should it be so noted in the date field. It is ok to include partial dates, for any portion of the date if it is stated, or can be strongly inferred (in this case the kidnapping could have happened as early as April or May of 1959). If any assumption is involved then it needs to be cited as such and be documented in the events notes section of the event.

That has been my criteria when doing this entries even when they were only on a database on one of my computers. I think it is pretty good criteria, but it is open to discussion and debate.

For this particular event, it is possible it happens the same day as the events "on Mulberry Street" but that is only fan speculation as should be stated as such. I feel the kidnapping happened at some point BEFORE this battle in Astro City. How much before, again can only be assumed.

Astrozak, Your page change comment "Changed to August, the group had only been together a few weeks..." sources from where? The only comment I see happening on the comic page(s) of this event is "They'd only just become a team". --Infobroker (talk) 10:56, 14 August 2015 (PDT)

I'm going more by volume 1 #2 and Elliot Mills comments about Honor Guard having only been together a few weeks. And the only mention of a date, is one of the other reporters at the Deadline, saying "April Fool's Day was months ago."
And I guess I've always taken that the events of that issue took place before this one, based on Mills' comment about people not sure if Honor Guard was going to stick together.

I admire and appreciate all this cross checking of the dates and events that you do. All of that is good stuff, let's document and frame the content so it somehow includes it. Thanks. --Infobroker (talk) 13:32, 15 August 2015 (PDT)
