K.O. Carson
A former police officer and kick-boxer, who became the Black Badge in the 1950s. After his retirement in 1972, he opened up Bruiser's a bar that caters the blue collar and strong men heroes of Astro City.
History
After retiring in 1972, he went public with his identity, so that his story could serve as an inspiration to others. Though there are also reports that he playfully will neither confirm nor deny that he was in fact the Black Badge.
K.O. sponsored the Bakerville Street Fair's boxing tournament in the early 1980s. Carson believed it was a way to help wayward youths find a focus in life. He also played a part in helping the Charles and Royal Williams set aside their hatred and need for vengeance against Aubrey Jason and by turn the Silver Agent.
