Donnelly Ferguson
HistoryAs a villain and mob figure in the 1940s, an individual known as the Scarlet Snake controlled half of Astro City's underworld activities. Despite his civilian identity never being caught or, at that time, even suspected. He "retired" and, somehow, lost the bulk of his wealth. Ferguson then became a crime broker. Based in Kiefer Square, he specialed in arranging "jobs" between black masks and those to hire them. He was also active in other illegal activities, trading caches of cheap knock-off goods in the Sweatshop. In the 1960s, Ferguson helped arrange for young Carl Donewicz to become a subject in Dr. Ganss's experiments, transforming Carl into the Steel-jacketed Man, aka Steeljack. As a broker, Ferguson was involved with many black masks, including: Handgun, Goldenglove I, Cutlass, Steeljack, Quarrel I, the Mockery, Chain, Wolfhound, Longhorn, Muscleman, Jackdaw, Glue Gun, The Fog, Strangematter, Smoke, Mirrors, the Mock Turtle, and Goldenglove II. When black masks began dying to the Kiefer Square killer, Ferguson helped arrange for Steeljack to investigate these deaths. His sweatshop goods included an inventory of high-tech blasters which he distributed to residents of the Keifer neighborhood to defend a black mask called the Mock Turtle from the Chessmen, a group of thugs who pursued him from London. After the Conquistador's plot was foiled, Ferguson fled Astro City. PowersNone. Whether he now is truly retired or is still active, making deals and connections among his underworld contacts is unknown.
