Mr. Smartie Notes: this page is a recovery operation, consisting of cut-and-paste notes from an internet archive site, most likely the WayBack Machine. It needs formatting to the new character templates, and other fix-ups.

K.O. Carson, an ex-boxer and policeman, as the Black Badge began fighting crime in Astro City's Bakerville neighborhood in the 1950s, when he felt that traditional law-enforcement wasn't serving the black community fairly. After retired in 1972, he went public with his identity, so that his story could serve as an inspiration to others.

Today, K.O. Carson owns and runs the colorful Bruiser's Bar & Grill, but does not confirm or deny that he was the Black Badge. Contents [hide]
