The Lion
A hero of Great Britain, partnered with The Unicorn. At least two separate individuals, one female and one male, have worn the mantle over the years.
History
The first Lion was part of the battle against Madame Majestrix in 1973 in Astro City.
The second Lion fought with the Mock Turtle in 1996.
Powers
Both the 1970s and 1990s version of the Lion had the power of flight.
Observations
Along with the Unicorn, both are symbols of Great Britain. They are the supporters of the full Royal Coat of the arms of Great Britain. The Lion is said to represent England while the Unicorn is of Scotland. So, it could stand to reason that the Lion is English and the Unicorn is a Scottish hero.
Speculations, Theories
The Lion and The Unicorn appear to be the pre-eminent heroes of Great Britain.
It's probable that the first Lion, being female, might have been known as the Lioness.
