He aided The Honor Guard in the first fight against Shirak. History There is a definite sense of a long history associated with the Bouncing Beatnik, but to date, he has made very few on-page appearances within the pages of Astro City Comics. At least in this form, with this identity. According to a Pyramid computer file, he took down a Pyramid base in Los Angeles in the mid 1960s. Speculations, Theories Apparently not completely human. A repeat appearance in Astro City: The Dark Age Book One #4 strongly infers that the Halcyon Hippie is of this dimension as well. Based on certain physical similarities, it is possible, that in addition to being the Halcyon Hippie, he is could also have a third identity as that of the Broken Man. In 1959, the Bouncing Beatnik teamed up with Max O'Million's freshly formed super-hero team, Honor Guard during the first known encounter with Shirak the Devourer. It seems a rather odd however, given the cultural differences between the two of them, and commentary from patrons at a local pub(the Deadline) commonly used by reporters.
