InfoDump Appearances (in Publication Order): Kurt Busiek's Astro City Vol.1 #2 Event Timeline The Bouncing Beatnik An acrobatic and jive talking beatnik hero. He aided The Honor Guard in the first fight against Shirak. History There was a Bouncing Beatnik comic book seen in 1997. Speculations, Theories Apparently not completely human. He has a yellowish skin color, and only three digits on each hand. The Halcyon Hippie is at least "sort of" the Bouncing Beatnik seen in the early 70's. It was brought up in his first appearance (2:1/2) that he might be an alternate reality's version of the Beatnik, but his appearance in DA1:4 might suggest otherwise. Footnotes On the (now discontinued) Comics Forum, Bruiser's, Kurt mentioned, "There'll eventually be more of the Beatnik -- or another of his incarnations. He's shown up in two, so far." Given the personalities he's displayed so far, it's possible that the Beatnik/Hippie is an incarnation of the youthful zeitgeist, and that his later incarnations could include "GenX," or "The Emo Kid." (Not that Kurt would use such names, but you get the idea.)
