- Broke up a gang robbing an armored car, which included Royal Williams.[3]

Late February:
- Caught Richard Forgione trafficking drugs.[4]

September 9:
- Defeated Morningstar and captured seven leaders of organized crime. [1]
1983
October 13:
- After battling The Weirdies, who were working for the Underlord, for weeks, the battle came to an end on Torres Island with a trap. Managing to get the hostages away, Jack-in-the-Box ended being killed by a bomb. [5]
