Augustus Furst

World renown scientist and inventor and head of the First Family. He is the older brother of Julius, adoptive father to Nick and Natalie Furst and adoptive grandfather to Astra, Karl, and Sasha Furst.

History

Dr. Furst attended Harold Jordan Memorial High School in St. Paul Minnesota. His and his brother, Julius' careers took off in 1950, when Augustus was sent to Romania to deal with an energy loss issue, that turned out to be Onggu the Omnivorous. Dr. Furst figured out that it was alien life and figured out a way to get rid of the being, which led him to get on the cover of Scientific American. A few months later some discovery led him to being on the cover of Time Magazine.

Dr. Furst has been married four times. His most notable was wife number two, Nadia, whom he rescued from an alien energy field. She eventually left him for Kaspian and when she turned up missing, her two children were taken in by Dr. Furst. According to Julius, Madame Majestrix is the only one who could ever deal with Dr. Furst.

He helped repair Beautie one time after she was torn apart by The Living Nightmare.

Equipment

Dr. Furst carries a small hand-held device called the Energenerator, an energy source that powers many of the gadgets and devices he uses. For the sake of comfort and familiarity, the Energenerator is shaped like a smoking pipe; a former pipe-smoker, Dr. Furst can frequently be seen holding the device in his mouth, its stem pressed between his lips.
