Alien life forms, species and civilizations have impacted Astro City and planet Earth to varying degrees. Very little is know about some. Their interactions are just minor background elements --for example-- the Universals. A few are beneficial and helpful allies like Starwoman. Others are extremely dangerous, threatening our very existence. One of the most terrifying were the Enelsians.
Over the years, Astro City and its denizens have been exposed to lots of Aliens. The Herocopia Project has cataloged a few of them. There are others to research and discuss.

There is no blueprint for how to become a super-hero, but Brian Kinney has a plan. A high risk decision to move to Astro City, an area saturated with superheroes. There he hopes to mingle and learn, and with luck perhaps a chance as a side-kick or assistant to an already established mask. It's not like it hasn't happened before. His break comes sooner than he expected. He also didn't expect the Confessor to be the one to offer the chance for him to be Altar Boy.

She was looking for work. Something stop-gap to help with day-to-day expenses until a real job came along. So who knows. It might have been just the right tag word in her resume, or perhaps someone already working for the company marked her as a strong candidate for the position as a Call Center Specialist. Then too, they put her through a large battery of tests when she applied for the position. Endlessly long tests, and even a psych exam. She was really getting suspicious.

The city of Caplinville is a small rural town located in a whole different cultural landscape from Astro City. But they do have a super-hero of their very own. One which they are mighty proud to brag about to any and all who come for a visit.
